Duble AI vs AKOOL: character swap, face swap and recurring videos
3 min read
AKOOL and Duble AI both cover replacing a person in existing video. AKOOL additionally documents separate face, motion, head, hair and clothing tools. Duble AI centers on making a character once and reusing it in trends, photos and short uploaded videos. The useful decision is which workflow you need, rather than which brand has the longer feature list.
We publish Duble AI. This comparison uses official pages read on November 1, 2026; we did not generate comparison clips or measure speed, likeness or reliability.
AKOOL is more than face replacement
AKOOL's Swap Studio distinguishes Face Swap from Character Swap and Motion Swap. Its Character Swap API documentation describes supplying a character image and a source video, with animation or replacement modes. That makes AKOOL a direct competitor for some character-video tasks, not just a face-editing alternative.
The distinction matters when preparing references. A face replacement can keep the original performer's clothes and body. A character replacement asks for a broader visual change. Read face swap versus character swap before choosing either mode.
Choose by the production task
| Your task | Where to start | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Replace a face while retaining the performer | AKOOL Face Swap | Face selection and the result at difficult angles |
| Explore character replacement with developer integration | AKOOL's documented Character Swap API | Endpoint limits, access and current billing |
| Reuse one influencer in library trends | Duble AI | Character look and the chosen source clip |
| Put that character in your own short performance | Duble AI | Upload length, scene clarity and original sound |
AKOOL's face swap tutorial explains automatic face detection, selecting a target, and supplying its replacement. Its FAQ confirms multiple faces in one file. These features should not be assumed to apply identically to every other AKOOL mode.
What a recurring Duble AI workflow looks like
Start with a character created from your own photos, an invented character, or a member of the cast. Save a look suitable for the series. Then choose a library trend or upload a video of 3 to 30 seconds. The result keeps the original recording's sound; speech follows that original audio. Duble AI generates no new voice or music.
For example, a recurring presenter can appear in a filmed reaction today and a dance tomorrow. Keep the character's reference look stable and change the performance through the source footage. That is different from asking a general generator to invent both the performer and the scene each time. See consistent AI characters.
Review the entire returned clip. Look for identity changes during head turns, hands crossing the face, clothes that no longer fit the reference, and background details that moved. Generative editing can change scene details; a saved character does not make every frame exact.
Compare cost for the same deliverable
Duble AI charges 5 credits per second at Standard quality; a ten-second clip uses 50 credits. Creating images also uses credits. Packs and plans are explained in Duble AI pricing.
Do not compare the two tools by the number printed beside a credit balance. Credits have different values, and face replacement is not automatically billed like character replacement. Price the same duration and mode, then check output restrictions and any repeat generations your project requires. We do not claim either tool is cheaper without that matching quote.
When to choose each
Choose AKOOL when its particular editing mode or documented developer integration is central to the job. Choose Duble AI when the job is a reusable character in short performances with original sound. Neither an upload nor an AI label supplies permission to use somebody else's face, footage or music.
For the wider market, use the AI video tool directory. To prepare your first source, follow replacing a person in your own video, then create a character.
