Duble AI vs OpusClip: replace a character or turn footage into posts?
3 min read
OpusClip is worth evaluating when you have footage to turn into edited posts. Duble AI fits a different decision: you want a character to take the place of the person performing in a particular clip. Editing, selection and character replacement can belong to the same project.
We publish Duble AI and reviewed official OpusClip pages on November 1, 2026. We did not test output quality, publishing connections or paid plans. No virality score or vendor slogan is treated as proof of future performance.
OpusClip now documents two editing routes
The OpusClip AI editor page presents long-video clipping and a raw-footage editing route. Its AI Producer page describes editing talking-head material through chat. Calling the entire product only a clip extractor would miss its documented editing scope.
For a recorded interview, the first problem may be selecting a complete answer and framing it for a short post. For a character sketch, you may already know the exact action and need to change who performs it. Name that problem before choosing a tool.
| Material you have | Work you need | Route to evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| A long interview | Find and edit standalone passages | OpusClip clipping |
| Raw talking-head footage | Build a finished edit | OpusClip AI Producer |
| A short approved performance | Put your character into it | Duble AI |
| A finished character clip | Prepare final captions and presentation | An editor appropriate to the file |
The AI video tool directory helps separate tools by role, and Duble AI versus Descript covers another recording-editing route.
Keep source selection ahead of generation
Duble AI accepts your video from 3 to 30 seconds, or a trend from its library. The result retains the recording's original sound. It does not generate a new voice, music or a scene from text, and it does not publish posts to your accounts.
If you plan to use a passage from a longer recording, choose and approve the passage first. A replacement generation does not decide whether the answer makes sense without the interviewer's question. Include enough context to avoid changing the speaker's meaning.
When character replacement is needed, prepare the character and review the selected person. Check the complete generated clip, especially fast movement, occlusion and the final frames. Read replacing a person in your own video for the upload workflow.
Separate the review into three decisions
Selection: Does the excerpt stand on its own? A striking opening is not enough if the conclusion is missing. Review context before adding visual treatment.
Identity: Does this post need a different character at all? Many interviews should simply keep their original speaker. Duble AI is optional when the brief calls for a fictional host or a character performance.
Delivery: Does the final caption match the actual words, and is the crop appropriate? Review the export and the destination account. An automated publication feature should still use your approved file and settings.
This order also prevents redoing a character generation because someone later removed half the source clip. Keep the approved cut separate from the raw recording and final export.
Buying the production you need
Confirm current OpusClip access for the chosen route, connected accounts and required export before subscribing. Do not assume all clipping, editing and publication capabilities share one entitlement. We did not verify an account connection or run an end-to-end publication test.
Duble AI uses paid credits: Standard video consumes 5 per second, or 50 for ten seconds. There is no free generation. See pricing for preparation and purchase options. Buy character replacement when the character change is part of the brief, rather than adding it to every selected clip by default.
Frequently asked questions
- Is OpusClip only for extracting clips?
- No. Its current official pages also document a raw-footage editing route through AI Producer. Inspect the route that matches your source material.
- Does Duble AI select highlights from a long interview?
- No. Choose and trim the intended passage first. Your source upload must be 3–30 seconds.
- Can I combine clip editing and character replacement?
- Potentially, with authorized footage and compatible files. Approve the selected passage before generation and review the final export afterwards.
- Will either workflow guarantee viral posts?
- No. We do not treat a tool’s marketing or automated score as a guarantee of reach, engagement or revenue.
